Giovanni Tomasi is an Associate Professor of Practice in Management Control Systems at SDA Bocconi School of Management and teaches Planning and Control at Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi
At SDA Bocconi he has been member of the Management Board since 2018 and he serves as Director of Domestic Executive Programs for CFI Division. Previously he served as Director of the Corporate Custom Division (2018-2022)and as Executive MBA Director (2013-2017).
His research activities focus on measurement systems and performance management, planning and control systems in multinational groups and accounting and cost management systems. Currently, he is analyzing the following key topics: performance management, cost management and business planning. He is the author of numerous books and articles on his topics of interest.
His works have been published in La Valutazione delle Aziende, Economia & Management and the Creative Industry Journal. He has conducted numerous research, education and consulting projects for leading companies in the entertainment, chemical-pharmaceutical and luxury goods industries. He has been a Visiting Scholar at Stockholm School of Economics and Anderson School of Business (University of California); he has also collaborated with the Art, Science and Knowledge (ASK) research center. He has been an independent member of several Boards of Directors. He is a business consultant and advisor in M&A deals.
He earned a degree in Business Administration from Università Bocconi and a Ph.D. in Economics of Institutions and Business Systems from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.
