After their recent victory at the London Business School's Global MBA Trophy, the team from SDA Bocconi's Sailing Club has also triumphed at the 2024 RSM MBA Regatta, held between July 18 and 21 in the waters of Malta aboard SB20 boats.
With seven top-three finishes out of eight races, the team secured first place overall, earning the title of SB20 Champion. The winning crew consisted of Elio Rosapepe (MISA 22 – helmsman), Oscar Teja (MBA – mainsail), Stjepko Zrncic (MBA – trimmer), and Giulio Magni (EMBA weekend – bowman).
The competition, part of the annual MBA Global Sailing League circuit, saw the SDA Bocconi Sailing Club crew clinch victory with a total of 13 points, narrowly beating IE Business School by just one point in an exciting finale. The races took place in the waters off Malta and Valletta, which will host the SB20 European Championships at the end of September.
Oscar Teja, former president of the SDA Bocconi Sailing Club, commented: "We are very happy with the result achieved; these were highly competitive and technically enjoyable races. We had the opportunity to race in various wind conditions, from lighter breezes to stronger winds." Elio Rosapepe added: "We had a wonderful weekend filled with sport, fun, and friendship. The MBA Sailing Championship undoubtedly upholds and promotes these values."
This victory not only showcased the exceptional skills of the sailors, but also highlighted the Club's broader mission: to combine individual excellence with the synergies of teamwork, contributing, through the metaphor of sport, to developing well-rounded leaders equipped with the technical and academic skills and leadership capabilities needed to tackle the most complex challenges.
