The selection process is based on a comprehensive analysis of the documentation submitted, along with other factors, and aims to select a qualified, motivated class capable of contributing to a stimulating environment. We seek to understand not only if you are a good fit for the Executive MBA, but also if the EMBA aligns with your expectations.
Participant Selection
The selection process is rolling and takes place during the following period:
- September 2024 - March 2025 for the EMBA Weekend (2025-2027 edition)
- April - September 2025 for the EMBA Modular (2025-2027 edition)
During the selection process, the School evaluates applications and awards scholarships/exemptions to deserving candidates who have submitted a formal request.
Upon receiving the application, the Recruiting and Admissions Service will begin the preselection based on the documents submitted. If the documents are deemed suitable, you will be contacted (by phone or email) for the next stages, which consist of a test and an individual interview.
The entire evaluation process generally takes up to eight weeks from the completion of all stages.
Admitted candidates must confirm their participation by the deadline indicated by the Admissions Service. The results will be communicated in writing to all candidates. Full details regarding the selection process and the required documentation can be found in the application form.
Candidates are asked to indicate their preference for the Executive MBA program in the online application. The School reserves the right to cancel a program if the number of qualified applications is insufficient to ensure the classroom’s quality standards. In such cases, candidates will be informed about their program allocation based on their preferences indicated in the application form.
SDA Test
In Italian, organized by SDA Bocconi, this is an aptitude test designed to assess logical, verbal, and numerical reasoning skills, and does not require specific preparation.
Alternatively:
GMAT
The GMAT is an internationally recognized test that assesses quantitative, verbal, and analytical skills. During the test, you must specify the name of the School.
The program's MBA identification code is: 3WJ-L8-63. Candidates who have already taken the test must submit their results to the School. Results from before 2020 are not valid.
Interview
The individual interview is a key component of the selection process. It can be conducted at SDA Bocconi or, in some cases, via video call.
Selection Outcome
The Admissions Service will notify you of the selection outcome via email, whether the result is positive or negative. In no case will the outcome be communicated by phone. The decisions made by the selection committee are final.
In the case of:
-
Admission: You will receive the official admission letter and participation contract. You must confirm your participation by the deadline indicated by the Admissions Service.
If the number of available spots has been filled, the School may place you on a waiting list or offer you admission for the following edition.
Admission to the program is valid for the year in which the application was submitted. You may request a deferral to the following year, but confirmation of admission is at the discretion of the Admissions Service.
-
Non-admission: The selection process evaluates each candidate’s performance while also considering the overall composition of the EMBA class. Although the School recognizes the effort each candidate invests in the selection process, it does not provide personalized feedback to candidates who are not admitted.
