Roberta Montanelli is a Senior Lecturer in Government, Health and Non Profit at SDA Bocconi School of Management.
Her collaboration with SDA Bocconi began in 1996. She teaches in the Master in Healthcare Management (MiMS) and the EMMAS Master. Over the years she has managed research and education projects for major public and private healthcare organizations. She is currently engaged in the development of innovative education courses such as the Oncology Management Fast Track (OMFT) dedicated to young talents in Oncology in collaboration with the relevant scientific societies (CIPOMO) and the Neurology Management Lab (NeuroMLab) alongside the Italian Society of Neurology (SIN). For MIMS she coordinates the Self Management Path to support the development of leadership skills of master students.
Her research and education activities focus on healthcare management with particular emphasis on people management and the role of the HR function in healthcare organizations. More specifically, she investigates how managerial tools might guide professionals in developing leadership skills. One of the greatest challenges of the National Health Service is, in fact, the search for managerial forms of orientation of professional behaviors in line with the needs of users and the sustainability of the system. The scientific communities with which she has worked for the development of managerial and leadership skills include Neurology, Psychiatry, Oncology, Diabetology, Cardiology and Nursing Profession.
She is the author of books and articles on her research subjects. Her most recent works have been published in OASI (Observatory on Healthcare Organizations and Policies in Italy) and in specific essays such as Mental Health in Italy: challenges and perspectives for changing health care (2017) and Care sector trasformation and changes in Neurology (2019). She combines research and education with her coaching activities: she is a member of the SDA Bocconi coaching team for the development of leadership skills of master students and executives.
Roberta earned a degree in Economics at the Università Bocconi, has a Diploma in Counseling obtained at the International Institute of Educational Psychosynthesis and is a Coach with an ICF-ACTP certification. She is married with two children.
