Manlio De Silvio is Fellow of Sustainability at SDA Bocconi School of Management, and coordinator of SDA Bocconi Sustainability Lab and eSG excellence in Sustainability and Governance Lab. Manlio De Silvio teaches CSR, Sustainability and social enterpreneurshop at Bocconi University.
He is active in research and training initiatives on sustainability and CSR for enterprises, with more than 20 years of experience. He primarily operates within SDA Bocconi Sustainability Lab and eSG excellence in Sustainability and Governance Lab. He also actively collaborates with SDA Bocconi Procurement Lab, and Agri Lab on sustainability-related research avenues.
His research activities focus on the definition and application of social & environmental strategic and operational assessment, evaluation & reporting methodologies and tools, in multiple economic environments, such as industrial, energy, agri-business, pharmaceutical, utilities, blue economy. In the past, he held the position of Head of Research of a leading independent ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) rating agency and provider of ESG financial indices.
He was part of numerous Committees, Commissions and Work Groups on enterprise sustainability and CSR , both on a national and international level, among which: CDDH-CORP Committee of the European Council, responsible of the development of voluntary policy instruments for human rights and enterprises, UNI Tecnical Commission (Ente Italiano di Normazione) on CSR. In the past, he was member of the UNI Italian Delegation to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) for drafting the ISO 26000:2010 Guide on Social Responsibility.
Manlio earned a MSc in Economics and Management from Bocconi University.
