Then, he emphasized Azimut Libera Impresa's strategic investment focus on private markets, highlighting specifically three key ESG-focused funds. Each fund was explored through specific case studies presented by Leonardo Ridella, allowing the class to better grasp the distinct investment strategies, valuation approaches, value creation levers, and exit options.
Notably, these cases underscored the importance of precise risk allocation across the construction, operational, and regulatory phases, ensuring that each party bore the appropriate level of responsibility. An extra case covered to a Private Equity fund targeting Italian SMEs in the transitions of digital and energy transformation. The value creation playbook included EBITDA growth, international revenue expansion, margin improvement, and cash generation. Exit strategies, again, included sales to strategic or financial investors or an IPO, each offering different paths in terms of valuation uplift, complexity, and timing.

By analyzing real-world case studies, it offered practical insights into how ESG principles, structured Finance, and value creation levers are effectively applied in today's private markets landscape.
