Last week marked the start of the new edition of SDA Bocconi’s Executive MBA, whose Modular format enables high-potential senior managers and executives to balance their investment in managerial skill development with professional commitments and personal life responsibilities.
The inaugural day commenced with opening remarks from Stefano Caselli, Dean of SDA Bocconi, followed by contributions from Enzo Baglieri, Associate Dean for the Master Division, and Lucia Benedetti, Managing Director of the School.
Renata Trinca Colonel, Academic Director of the Executive MBA, and Marco Morelli, Program Director, presented the program’s distinguishing features, emphasizing its dynamic structure and its design to address the challenges of responsible leadership through a blend of theory, practical application, and decision-making development. “The launch of a new master’s cohort represents a fresh start for everyone—a chance for personal and professional growth, exploration of new knowledge, and tackling stimulating challenges, all with the aim of improvement and evolution,” commented the Directors. “In the EMBA journey, growth stems not only from individual study but also from the tremendous strength of a community that shares experiences, ideas, and goals, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.”
As in previous editions, this cohort is characterized by its diverse composition: 75 participants with varied professional experiences, educational backgrounds, and cultural perspectives. This diversity is a core value of the program, creating a stimulating environment for exchange, mutual learning, and professional growth.
During the day, the Career Development Center (CDC) was introduced, offering students support for career growth through activities such as career advising, mentoring, and coaching. Another key aspect is the active engagement within the alumni community, which continues beyond the program through numerous initiatives, including Student Clubs. These clubs provide opportunities for networking, skill development, and professional exchange, further strengthening ties with the global business community.
The event concluded with a testimonial from Ombretta Faggiano, an EMBA alumna, who offered the class meaningful insights. Focusing on distributed leadership and managing complexity, she highlighted how the program not only enhances professional competencies but also deepens self-awareness as a leader. Her words underscored the value of a journey that goes beyond technical skills, embracing personal growth and the development of strategic vision.
