New faculty members join with the goal of increasing the School's impact in the areas of sustainability and finance, marketing and government.

SDA Bocconi continues to invest in the development of increasingly innovative knowledge to meet the challenges brought about by change. With this in mind, over the past few days the School has welcomed three new faculty members, called upon to produce new, influential knowledge and make it available to businesses and institutions, enabling them to increase their impact on their communities.

Sylvie Goulard

Sylvie Goulard joins the Faculty with the goal of developing sustainability and finance research projects at a global level, leveraging her experience in Europe-wide settings. She is currently Vice President at the Institute for European Policymaking (IEP) at Bocconi University, and was Minister of the Armed Forces in the French government, a member of the European Parliament (8 years in the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee), Deputy Governor of the Bank of France, and Policy Advisor to Romano Prodi during his tenure as President of the European Commission.

Walter Susini has had a successful career as a senior executive in some of the largest multinational companies, as well as being an entrepreneur and consultant in the field of marketing and innovation. His experience includes senior roles including Senior Vice President of Marketing for Europe, Africa and the Middle East at The Coca-Cola Company and Vice President of Global Marketing at Unilever. In addition, over a 28-year career, he has gained a comprehensive view of the industry by working with leading advertising agencies, innovation companies, private equity and venture capital firms globally. This background enables him to accurately identify market trends and develop marketing and innovation strategies tailored to supporting the growth of international companies and organizations.

Finally, Franco Gabrielli represents a key figure in accelerating the School's academic research on issues of government and policy making. His professional background has brought him to develop a deep understanding of the complex dynamics governing the relationship between public dimensions, strategic decisions and impact on society. Among his numerous assignments, he has been Undersecretary of State at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Chief of Police, and Head of the Civil Defense Department. In 2016, he also received the title of Knight of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

The new faculty members join the SDA Bocconi Faculty not only to make their skills and knowledge available to the School, but also to help the companies, institutions and managers the School works with every day to seize new development opportunities in the areas of sustainability and finance, marketing and government.
