A new chance is up for Made in Italy in the world. An opportunity to look beyond the present difficult times and prepare to go beyond our national frontiers with the support of outstanding partners. This is what is offered to Italian small and medium-sized companies, along with their consultants, by Smart Export – Digital Academy for Internationalization. This free-of-charge online executive education initiative has been promoted and coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with Agenzia ICE and the Conference of Italian University Deans. SDA Bocconi is also participating in it. The goal of the project is to support and expand the presence of Italian micro, small and medium-sized companies in foreign markets by strengthening their strategic, digital and managerial know-how.
The initiative, whose presentation was live streamed on 10 March, relies on the teaching expertise of five top-of-the-list Italian universities and business schools: Bologna Business School, Federica Web Learning - Università di Napoli Federico II, Luiss Business School, MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business and SDA Bocconi School of Management. Each one of them is going to plan and deliver a distance-learning module consisting of 5 sessions: webinars and live or asynchronous (matching individual schedules) classes over a one-year period, until 9 March 2022.
SDA Bocconi is in charge of the “Structuring for continuity, growth and internationalization” module, focusing on the role of ownership and governance, relevant organizational choices and the financial aspect. At the end of the module, participants will undergo a test to assess their level of learning.
Smart Export aims at unlocking the potential of Italian entrepreneurial ventures, which has not fully developed in international markets yet, by enhancing relevant competencies. The initiative will help entrepreneurs, managers and professionals work out strategies to enter and establish themselves in foreign markets, improve their knowledge of export instruments and techniques, foster Made in Italy, meet the challenges and opportunities of digitalization, develop a new business-intelligence model in the post-Covid era, and fine-tune corporate governance to a global perspective.
Entrepreneurs or managers in charge of internationalization in micro, small and medium-sized Italian companies as well as the professional figures supporting them (lawyers, tax advisors, industrial property specialists, business engineers, export managers and digital export managers) can subscribe to smartexportacademy.it platform and take an orientation test to identify the learning journey that most fits their profile. A decision that can make a competitive difference on global markets, which are increasingly closer to anyone of us.
