The FIFA Master - International Master (MA) in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, established in 2000, was created to promote management education within the sports world. It has grown to become a top graduate academic program developing all-round managers who can cope with the increasingly complex world of sport.

The FIFA Master is organized by the International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) in partnership with three universities, De Montfort University in Leicester (UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan (Italy) and the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland).

Every year, the FIFA Master class - approximatively 30 postgraduates from 25 different nationalities – embarks on a unique journey throughout Europe to study sport.Three distinguished universities in England, Italy and Switzerland, which are among Europe's most sports-oriented countries, have come together to provide a one-year program that combines top-class academic teaching and practical case studies supplemented by guest lecturers and field visits.

The course focuses on three key and inter-related aspects of sport humanities, management and law. The fourth and final part of the course also takes place while the students are still in Neuchâtel and under the supervision of academic staff of the three universities. This dissertation is an academic research project which involves working in small groups on a chosen topic, considering it from all angles, and then preparing and completing a joint project.

Program lecturers are some of the leading university authorities in the study of sport and guest lecturers include speakers from top organizations in world sport. This course has an excellent record of students finding jobs in sports management across leading global sporting organizations such as FIFA, the IOC, UEFA, AFC, CAF and F1, many sports marketing, sponsoring, consulting, and media & events agencies. The dynamic and thriving alumni association provides a valuable network both during and after the course.

Who Is It For?

The FIFA Master seeks to attract a diverse profile of applicants, those who exhibit a variety of skills and accomplishments. This is in contrast to some courses which target one standard candidate profile. In order to create the most stimulating environment possible for all postgraduates, we consciously select a complementary student body, one that not only reflects a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities, but also a wide range of personal interests and professional ambitions.
The common characteristics of our postgraduates are demonstrated by leadership potential and a capacity to thrive in a rigorous academic environment.
