Promoting an inclusive culture in your company

This book is for all the organizations that operate in Italy and anyone in our country interested in tackling the issue of inclusion in the workplace.

Italian and European law prohibits discrimination, and at the same time, the moral standards of an advanced society compel us to embrace greater inclusion. For this reason, organizations are also called to adopt conceptual tools to comprehend the social phenomena underway and to become more inclusive.  Using as our foundation field studies collected by the Diversity, Inclusion & Smart Working Observatory at the SDA Bocconi School of Management, this book speaks to people tasked with addressing diversity in the workplace. Specifically, managers can compare their work environments with various examples presented in the book, to see where they stand in the process of adopting inclusive policies and promoting new ones, as the case may be.

From gender-related questions to LGBTQI+ and generational issues, from ethnic-cultural diversity to disabilities and parenthood, from inclusive leadership to the role of the diversity manager, and finally to the delicate balance between ethics and profits, this book offers ideas and tools for understanding how and why organizations that operate in Italy should manage diversity and foster inclusion while keeping in mind their unique characteristics and contexts.
