The most interesting investments and the best education share an important characteristic, capable of creating value for society and individuals: a long-term perspective. This is the concept presented by Stefano Caselli, the Dean of SDA Bocconi School of Management, to a hundred Bocconi and SDA Bocconi alumni during a meeting held yesterday evening at the headquarters of the European Central Bank, the iconic ECB Tower in Frankfurt. The event, organized by Bocconi Alumni Frankfurt, SDA Bocconi, and Bocconi University, was also attended by the Rector of the University, Francesco Billari.

Long-term investment is the first and most important of the trends identified by Professor Caselli in a global movement that finally leads to prioritizing investment decisions with a real impact on economic growth.

"Patient capitals," said Prof. Caselli, "increasingly make long-term investments to finance companies with a strong growth mindset; support public-private partnerships and develop new infrastructure; finance urban regeneration projects; and support the birth of new businesses."

Similarly, individual education, in a scenario that challenges acquired skills every day, yields the best results when it is part of a continuous learning program, rather than relying on the once-and-for-all acquisition of specific technical skills.

"Only the transition to continuous learning mindset," concluded the Dean, "allows addressing the challenges that anyone working in a modern international organization faces every day, including sustainability, the digital transition, and inclusivity."
