THE PROGRAM, DESIGNED FOR NORWEGIAN ENTREPRENEURS AND MANAGERS, IS ORGANIZED BY SDA BOCCONI SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT FOR INNOVATION NORWAY, THE NORWEGIAN GOVERNMENT'S MOST IMPORTANT INSTRUMENT FOR INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT

On Friday 8th April at SDA Bocconi School of Management the Norwegian royals, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, presided the kick-off of the Fashion Skills for Scale. Growing Successfully in International Markets program, designed by SDA Bocconi for Innovasjon Norge (Innovation Norway), the Norwegian Government's most important instrument for innovation and development.

The royals have been welcomed by SDA Bocconi School of Management’s Dean, Bruno Busacca, and Bocconi University’s CEO, Bruno Pavesi. The program will be attended by 20 entrepreneurs and managers from nine Norwegian fashion companies and from Norwegian Fashion Industry, the network promoting the fashion industry.

Fashion Skills for Scale. Growing Successfully in International Markets is a six-day executive program (five days in Milan, one in Oslo), preceded by two distance sessions aimed to give a common base to all the participants. “Our goal”, says Stefania Saviolo, the program Director and Director of SDA Bocconi Luxury & Fashion Knowledge Center, “is endowing participants/entrepreneurs with all the skills and understanding necessary to develop and manage brands and business models in fashion for a successful international growth”.

The program launched with the Norwegian royals is part of a series of intense relationships between Bocconi University and Norway: exchange programs that, through the years, have brought 400 Bocconians to Norway for a study semester and as many Norwegian students to Bocconi; ca. 200 Norwegians have obtained a degree at Bocconi University or SDA Bocconi; more than 200 Norwegian students and managers have participated in the Study Tours organized by SDA Bocconi. One of the most prestigious academic offices at Bocconi, that of Dean of the Undergraduate School, is covered by a Norwegian Professor: Arnstein Aassve.

SDA Bocconi School of Management is a worldwide acknowledged competence center for fashion management studies, thanks to the SDA Bocconi Luxury & Fashion Knowledge Center, the Master in Fashion Experience and Design Management and the MBA’s track in Luxury Business Management, in cooperation with LVMH and Gucci. In March 2016 a LVMH Associate Professorship in Fashion and Luxury Management has been established at Bocconi University.
