FIFA Master - International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport sponsored by FIFA and part of the Government, Health and Not for Profit Division at SDA Bocconi, has been ranked first in Europe and second in the world amongst programs that specialize in sport management by SportBusiness International magazine. This is the second consecutive year that the Master tops the European rankings.
Jerome Valcke, FIFA’s General Secretary, said: “To top these rankings for the second year in a row is a truly magnificent achievement and underlines FIFA’s commitment to develop the game of football across the world, by supporting professionalism and improving standards in sports administration. I would like to congratulate everyone at CIES for their hard work in developing and consistently delivering a truly world-class FIFA Master program, which attracts students of the highest calibre. FIFA and CIES will continue to work together to ensure this Master course remains the best in its field.”
Dino Ruta, Scientific Director at SDA Bocconi School of Management, commented: “The FIFA Master is a top program because of its unique integration of Management, Humanities and Law. The Management module is designed to provide future leaders in sport with an in-depth understanding of today's economic situation and a coherent cultural vision for tomorrow. Milan's creative environment, combined with the pragmatic academic legacy of SDA Bocconi School of Management, provide a unique blend in which tomorrow's leaders can develop. I would like to thank the following members of the SDA Bocconi faculty, M. Morelli, C. Tamarowski, P. Guenzi, D. Reina and M. Draebye for their active contribution to the program.”
“To be ranked as the leading sports management program in Europe twice in a row is a wonderful achievement”, said Vincent Schatzmann, General Secretary of the CIES. “This result is both a reward and an encouragement. A reward for the team of the CIES and its scientific staff, but also for the professors of the three partner universities of the FIFA Master - De Montfort University in Leicester, SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan and the University of Neuchâtel.”
During the first twelve editions of the program, more than 350 graduates from over 80 countries attended the one-year university course. Today, more than 90% of our students work in the sports industry for organizations such as FIFA, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the European Rugby Cup (ERC).
