Andrea Sommariva, Associate Professor of Practice and director of the Evolution of the Space Economy (SEE Lab) of SDA Bocconi School of Management has completed the registration to NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation Systems (NSPIRES). NSPIRES supports research in science and technology representing a fundamental part of NASA's mission.

NASA solicits the research through the release of research announcements in a wide range of science and technology disciplines. NASA uses a peer review process to evaluate and select research proposals submitted in response to these research announcements. Researchers can help NASA achieve national research objectives by submitting research proposals and conducting awarded research.

George Sowers of the Colorado School of Mines has included Andrea Sommariva as a collaborator in the proposed project “Thermal Mining of Ices on Cold Solar System Bodies” to NSPIRES. Prof. Sommariva agreed to be a team member of the project. He has linked the SDA Bocconi School of Management to that proposal. The SEE Lab of the SDA Bocconi is now on board of an exciting project that may result in time to actually mining the Moon for profit.
