With the first edition of the HIT Radar, the DEVO Lab has provided a taxonomy that enables a clear and precise view of the relationship between macro-trends & business models, technology applications, technology clusters, technologies itself and their basic building blocks. This enabled the identification of 6 Tech Clusters and 15 core digital technologies. The assessment of those technologies provided a sound tool that support the Board reflections, decisions and actions towards innovative and impactful technologies. Yet, despite the appreciation that the first edition of the HIT Radar has gathered within the business community, we and our Founding Members were perfectly aware that not all industries and companies were created equal. In order to fulfil our mission to provide actionable insights that are valuable for C-suites, we needed to take a closer look to sectors’ specific dynamics. Based on our established methodology, we applied the HIT Radar assessment process to five distinct business contexts:
