Steve Plume has divided his Silicon Valley career between strategy consulting and executive marketing and strategy leadership roles, with companies from start-ups to global leaders.
He is currently the Managing Director of The Entrepreneur’s Fund, a venture capital firm in Silicon Valley. Prior to assuming this position, he was Vice President of Marketing for conDati, a startup that applies AI and Machine Learning algorithms to build analytic solutions that transform massive volumes of customer, event, and transaction data into accessible dashboards, alerts and automatic reports.
In corporate roles, Steve has served as Senior Marketing Director for the Dell Software Group, which collected Dell’s multiple enterprise software acquisitions, and as the marketing leader for Dell | KACE, one of the first of those acquisitions. Before joining Dell, Steve was the founding Vice President of Marketing at Accept Software, a provider of SaaS solutions for product management and portfolio strategy. While growing Accept from zero to acquisition by Artemis International, Steve had executive responsibility in Finance, Marketing, Business Development, and Professional Services.
Earlier in his consulting career, Steve’s practice focused on B2B/enterprise technologies. His many clients included established companies leading the first wave of the internet, including Apple, Adobe, Cisco, HP, IBM, Motorola, PeopleSoft, and Siebel, and a host of smaller companies, including some of the most successful IPOs of the 1990s, such as Aurum, Persistence, Sagent, and CommerceOne.
Steve has been a guest lecturer on strategy in at the Presidio Graduate School of Business and at the Hult International Business School, both in San Francisco, where he also enjoys coaching student consulting teams and judging business plan competitions.
