Josh Heck is the Chief Information Security Officer for Cummins Inc., a global power solutions leader with 2023 sales of $34 billion. As the CISO, Josh is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic, long-term information security strategy and roadmap to ensure the company’s information assets are adequately protected. He partners closely with senior leaders across the business and technology functions to assess and communicate acceptable levels of risk and drive the ongoing maturity of the cybersecurity program.

 

Josh has more than 20 years of experience in IT, audit and compliance, and risk management. He joined Cummins in 2007 as an IT Audit Manager and has since held positions as an IT Compliance Manager, Ethics and Compliance Director, and Internal Audit Executive Director. While in Internal Audit, Josh partnered with leadership to assess the company’s key enterprise risks and develop improvement plans covering enterprise and product cybersecurity, data privacy and other regulatory compliance matters. Prior to joining Cummins, Josh began his career in Technology and Security Risk Services at Ernst & Young. 

 

Josh’s education includes a bachelors degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University. He is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and is Six Sigma Greenbelt and Sponsor certified.
