Effat University is the first private non-profit university for women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and established in 1999, the college is named after Her Royal Highness Queen Effat, whose concern for women's education led to the founding in 1955 of Dar Al-Hanan, the first girls' school in the Kingdom. In keeping with Islamic traditions of learning and the values of Saudi society, Effat University is dedicated to achieving an international standard of academic excellence with an emphasis on career preparation and positive service to the community.
